衆議院選挙が2月8日（日）に決まった。投票には行くことにしている（だいたいは期日前投票）。ある政党、候補を選ぶにしても100%賛同できる選択肢はないので、どの部分で賛同できるか/できないかを天秤にかけることになる。投票日の夜、ネットで開票速報を見るのが結構楽しみになっています。自分の一票がこれからの日本の舵取りを決める何千万の一くらいの力になれたのかどうか見届けるために。

The Lower House election has been set for Sunday, February 8th. I plan to vote (I usually vote early). Since there’s no party or candidate I agree with 100%, I have to weigh what I can and cannot agree with. I’ve actually started to look forward to watching the live results online on election night. I watch to see if my single vote—one among tens of millions—helped determine the future course of Japan.

今日は朝から寒い、最高気温が10℃未満、曇り。この冬は暖かい日が多いと感じていたので、なんか本来の冬の一日を思い出すことになる。

It’s been cold since this morning. It’s cloudy, with a high below 10 degrees Celsius. Since it feels like we’ve had a lot of warm days this winter, today reminds me of what a real winter day is actually like.
